She was requisitioned in August 1940 as an auxiliary patrol boat.  After conversion to this role by Scott & Sons, Bowling, and fitted with depth-charge chutes, a 6-ponder gun and a Hotchkiss gun, she became a defence patrol craft at Tobermoray.  In December 1941 she was reallocated to Aultbea, and in January 1945 reallocated again for use by C-in-C Western Approaches as a local patrol craft.
