Rosevear is an Island Pilot, number 8, built in 2004, and the last, to date, to be built
They were specially designed for the exposed waters of the Isles of Scilly and built on the island of Bryher
Nineteen feet long with a heavy iron centre plate, they are ideally suited to their purpose. They are stiff and, well reefed, can keep sailing when all other small boats are ashore. The deep cockpit and coaming makes them ideal and safe family boats for small children. With the plate up they can be easily beached on the myriad of off islands.
