Jason was taken up for war service in February 1915 and had her name changed to Jason II.

She served in the Orkney Islands area throughout 1915 before moving to the Humber area in 1916 and becoming part of the Hydrophone Flotilla there.

She was armed with two 12-pounders and one 3-pounder.

She served until February 1919.
