This yacht was built by Camper & Nicholson in 1902 to a design by J M Soper for Mr S M Singer of New York.  Her original sailplan of 6,560 sq ft was increased, first to 9,860 sq ft and then to 11,000 sq ft and a Linear Rating of 95.30.

Lord Iveagh bought her from Mr Singer in 1906 and renamed her Cetonia after his previous yacht of the same name.

He kept her for 16 years before selling her to Gilbert A Tonge and she was rigged as a three-masted staysail schooner by the time she was acquired by her second RYS owner Lord Stalbridge.

She was never a brilliant racing yacht but was a superb cruiser in the grand manner.
