Admiral William Henry Baker Baker, OBE (7 December 1862 – 7 August 1932)
Life and Career
He came thirty-first in order of merit out of forty-two candidates who passed the examination for naval cadetships.
Baker-Baker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 January 1886 and to Commander on 22 June 1897.
Captain
Baker-Baker was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1903.
He was appointed command of the battleship Cornwallis on 4 June 1908.
Flag Rank
Baker Baker was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 4 June 1913 and, in accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December 1903, was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 December. He was advanced to Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 1 September 1918, and to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 1 June 1922.
