Rear-Admiral Alfred Hugh Taylor, C.B., O.B.E., R.N. (24 October, 1886 – 16 August, 1972) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Born in Norfolk.
Taylor was promoted to the rank of 15 May, 1906. He was awarded the Beaufort Testimonial for 1906.
Taylor was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1914.
Taylor was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1917.
Taylor was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1924.
Taylor commanded Valiant from August 1934 until December 1935. His tenure was marred by a collision with S.S. Eisenach on 30 August, 1935, for which Taylor incurred the Admiralty's displeasure.
Taylor was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 4 January, 1936 and placed on the Retired List the following day.
