Paddy Quinnell (1891-1982) served as a pilot in France and Mesopotamia during WWI.

In 1982 a racing buoy off his old home at Calshot was named after him.  In 1983 his stepson, Maldwin Drummond, planted a row of trees in the Castle gardens in his memory.

He was on the Yachting Committee twice - firstly between 1948 and 1951, and then from 1961 to 1964.
