Captain (retired) John Harding, (24 June, 1893 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Harding passed out of Royal Naval College, Dartmouth in April, 1910 ranked 61st of 77 cadets in marks on the Part I examination.
Harding served ion the destroyer Hydra early in the war, and was re-appointed to her, temporarily, upin his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 July, 1915. In fact, her remained in her through June 1916, fighting in the Battle of Jutland in her as part of the First Destroyer Flotilla. In July, 1916 he was appointed to await completion of the new destroyer Patrician, to serve in her upon her commissioning. In August, 1918 he left her to take up his first command appointment, in the patrol boat P39.
Harding was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 July, 1923.
Harding was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1928.
