Eldest son of the Earl of Mount Edgecumbe. He is a clever yachtsman, racing principally on the South and West Coasts, where his seamanship is well known. He owned the Arethusa, 59 tons, and in the Solent classes, the 30-footer Frieda and 24-footer L’ Allegra. He is Commodore of the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club, and a prominent member of the Yacht Racing Association.
