Born on 10 May 1800, he became the MP for Shropshire (1821-32) and the MP for Shropshire North (1832-42). He was the Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire (1845-75).
He married the heiress Anne Clegg of Peplow Hall in 1831.
He died on 3 January 1875.
